Building Permits
Building Permits are required for all building construction, including accessory structures such as: decks, pools, sheds, porches, enclosures, roofing, siding, etc. Permits are obtained through Solon's Building Department. Roofing, siding, fence, landscape and garage sale forms can also be downloaded and filled out to submit to the Building Department. Other forms can be obtained at the building department. Applicants for accessory-type structures need to provide three copies of the construction drawings, consisting of a site plan showing where the structure will be situated on the property and the distance from all property lines.
