Income Tax
The City of Solon has a 2% city income tax. All persons over 18 years of age earning income in the City of Solon, all business entities doing business in the City, and all residents over 18 years of age having taxable income are subject to the tax.
Solon residents are granted 100% credit, up to 2%, for municipal tax withheld or paid to another municipality on that particular income. Residents owing additional taxes must make quarterly estimated payments. All residents over 18 years of age must file an annual return whether tax is owed or not.
New residents and businesses should register at City Hall with the Solon Tax Department. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday year round. Special Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from January through April for resident taxpayer assistance.

Annual returns due by:
