RTA Service Changes

Effective August 24th, RTA will combine the current 41A and 41C bus routes in Solon.

Instead of separate routes, every bus trip to Solon will serve both downtown and the industrial area, resulting in increased frequency of service to both areas.  Weekend service will be added in the industrial area.  RTA will continue its “flagstop service” with passengers able to board or disembark anywhere along the route.  Although the bus will no longer stop at Solon Square Shopping Center, it will stop a short distance away along a new route on Melbury Avenue and Station Street.

The bus will no longer travel on the following streets:  1) Davis Industrial Parkway south of the Davis Industrial/Solon Road intersection;  2) Carter Street;  3) Cochran Road between Aurora Road and Solon Road;  4) The four a.m. and four p.m. trips that travel east of Solon Square to Portz Parkway will be discontinued due to very low ridership. 

The bus will continue to travel on Solon Road between Cochran and Aurora Road.

In the fall after RTA has studied the new ridership patterns, city officials will meet with RTA to discuss the installation of one or more bus shelters.  Efforts will be made to place the shelters for the convenience of passengers based on RTA’s ridership criteria.
