COVID-19 Senior Resources

The health, safety and welfare of our community members remains our foremost priority as we coordinate our response during this time of social distancing. The Solon Senior Center will remain closed to the public indefinitely.

During the closure the Department of Senior Services will continue to provide assistance via telephone at 440-349-6363, as well as, essential services to older adults of the Solon Community. The following essential services are available through the Solon Senior Center.


Transportation services continue to be provided Monday - Friday for both personal and non-emergency medical needs. Contact the Solon Senior Center at 440-349-6363 to schedule in-town transportation. 

If you require transportation outside the City of Solon please contact Senior Transportation Connection at 216-265-1489. You must be registered with Senior Transportation Connection before you can schedule a ride through this service.

Nutritional Support Programs

The Department of Senior Services has partnered with the following local stores to provide residents nutritional support while ensuring you remain safe at this current time. The purpose of the Solon Senior Supply/Grocery program is to meet the needs of needs the City of Solon’s senior residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to maintain the safety of those providing the services including the need for unnecessary community contact.

The programs serves senior residents who are:

  • Unable to order groceries/supplies on-line themselves and have no other person to assist with placement of the order,
  • Unable to pick-up an order from a local merchant and do not have another adult who is not in the vulnerable populations categories during the COVID-19 pandemic available to assist with shopping and/or delivery of groceries/supplies.

Ordering Through Market District:

  • Place your grocery order through the Solon Senior Center at 440-349-6363, 2 business days of notice required, there no same day delivery available
  • You will be contacted by Market District  to make payment over the phone
  • When your order is ready you can pickup your order via curbside pickup or you can arrange to have a Solon Senior Center representative pickup your order and deliver your goods to your residence*

Ordering Through Miles Farmers Market:

  • Order groceries by calling 440-248-5222 
  • Payment will be taken over the phone
  • When your order is  ready you can pickup your order via curbside pickup or you can arrange to have a Solon Senior Center representative pickup your order and deliver your goods to your residence*

**A $20 shopping fee will be added to all orders**

*Residents requesting delivery of groceries you must do the following:

  • Pickup and delivery service offered only Monday - Wednesday, and participants may contact the SSC to request assistance no more than twice per week
  • Deliveries will only be made during the hours of 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, based on the availability of shoppers
  • Substitutions will only apply to your entire order, or not at all, there are no item specific substitutions allowed
  • You must contact the Solon Senior Center to arrange delivery
  • Your order will be delivered to your doorstep, no Solon Senior Center representative may step into your residence

Meal Delivery

Social Worker Consultation and Services

The Solon Senior Center’s licensed social worker will be available to anyone who needs information or access to social programs, nutritional services, and all other inquiries. Please reach out if you, or anyone you know, is in need of any assistance, 440-349-6363.
