Sewers and Drainage
Sewer Division
The Sewer Division is responsible for the routine cleaning, repair, and maintenance of catch basins, manholes, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers within the city right of way.Sanitary Sewers
The Sewer Division is responsible for maintenance of approximately 151 miles of sanitary sewer lines throughout the city. In the event that a residence is experiencing slow drains or has a sewer backup into the basement, Sewer Division personnel will respond by checking the main sewer line for any blockages or problems.
This service is the first step in diagnosing a sewer problem. If the main sewer line is free of blockages, the Sewer Division will recommend the homeowner contact a licensed plumber to see if the problem lies in the property sewer connection.
Storm Sewers
The Sewer Division maintains approximately 150 miles of storm sewers within the city right of way. Maintenance includes catch basin cleaning, mainline televising, inspection, cleaning, and emergency response to flooding problems.
