Recycling (Single Stream)

Solon Recycles!
Single stream recycling gives residents the ability to conveniently combine all primary recyclables into 1 collection cart. Simply place all of your primary recyclables into it. Recyclables are picked up on your normal rubbish day and should be placed on the opposite side of your driveway from your regular rubbish. The following is a list of Primary Recyclables:
  • Aluminum or tin cans
  • Cardboard - any box you may have from food boxes to appliance boxes. Please break down boxes and flattened cardboard or pile the broken down cardboard into another cardboard box for pick up. If possible cardboard should be placed in automated recycle cart after being broken down.
  • Food glass which is clear, green or brown. (No window, drinking glass, mirror or decorative glass should be included)
  • Paper which includes office paper, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, cereal and food boxes and waxed food containers EXCEPT for juice boxes or greasy pizza boxes
  • Plastics numbers 1 through 7 (look for the recycling emblem on the bottom of the container with the numbers 1 through 7 in the middle of it)
