Solon Recreation Department To Host Community Open House

Rich Parker, Parks & Recreation Director, is pleased to announce that the City of Solon Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its first in a series of Community Open Houses on Thursday, July 21, to receive input on the City of Solon Park Master Plan. The Open house will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Solon Community Center located at 35000 Portz Parkway.

The Open Houses are designed for residents of all ages to provide insight on Solon’s existing parks, recreation services, programs and trails. Input for the future development of Solon’s community-based facilities, including the ever-popular Solon Community Park, and services will also be accepted.

“The future of this community will be shaped by the city and our residents,” said Parker. “It is important that we work as a team and gather as much information as possible to guide, develop and enhance our city’s park facilities.”

Solon residents are encouraged to get actively involved with Solon’s Master Plan projects. In addition to the Community Open Houses, the City of Solon is currently conducting an online survey focusing on the parks, recreation services and programs. This survey is available at http://bit.ly/solonparks. Hard-copy paper surveys can also be picked up at the Solon Community Center and Solon Senior Center.
